This park is set along the wild, scenic, jade-green Smith River. Unparalleled fishing and great hiking.
Not only are the campsites sprinkled among a grove of old-growth redwoods, the scenic Smith River runs by the campground. Activities include fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and much more. There are 106 RV or tent sites. Although there are no hookups, the facilities include showers, restrooms, dump station, nature center, picnic area and many miles of hiking trails. Open year round.

Set aside in the early 1920’s by the forethought of the people of California and the generosity of the Save-the-Redwoods League, Prairie Creek is a sanctuary of old growth coast redwood. The park consists of old growth redwood including prairies and 10 miles of scenic Gold Bluffs Beach
Prairie Creek offers hiking, nature study, wildlife viewing, beach combing, picnicking, a visitor center with exhibits and a nature store.

Camp along the windswept Pacific Ocean with the coastal redwoods as a backdrop. This campground provides access to over 70 trails. The annual
Banana Slug Derby, with slimy race contestants, is held in the park each August. There are 25 RV and 29 tent sites available at the beach. Trailers are prohibited and only RV lengths up to 24 feet and 8 feet wide can be accommodated. Drinking water, solar showers, restrooms, fire pits, and no hookups available. Ranger-led walks, junior ranger and evening campfire programs are offered. The campground is open year round and are on a first come, first serve basis.
Directions: Travel three miles north of Orick, CA on Highway 101, turn west on Davison Road and continue for four miles (gravel road).
One of the best places to view Roosevelt Elk, this campground is located in the heart of an old-growth redwood forest and next to a prairie. 75 RV or tent sites are available. RV Length limit is 27 feet, 24 feet for trailers. Facilities/amenities include nature center, bookstore, no hookups, bear-proof lockers, showers, restrooms, picnic area, over 70 miles of trails, hiker/biker sites, dump station, fire pits and handicap access. There are ranger-led walks, junior ranger and evening campfire programs. Open all year.
