Hiouchi: A warmer climate and natural beauty

Hiouchi is known for its warmer climate, natural beauty and outdoor recreation activities. Located on U.S. Highway 199, Hiouchi borders the banks of the pristine Smith River where in the summer months river goers enjoy swimming, sunbathing, kayaking and river rafting. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park offers the most popular river hot spot in Hiouchi with its day use river beach and barbeque areas as well as a prime camping location for out of town visitors.

Other events in the area include playing a round of golf at the nine-hole Del Norte Golf Course, hiking amongst the gigantic redwood trees and world famous fishing for Steelhead and Salmon.
